On a recent day, a group of us went out to gather some stray cattle on the Allran Ranch. It was a beautiful day, and we were enjoying the scenery of the ranch as we rode our horses. We finally stopped to water the horses, and we found ourselves at the Carson River, which runs through the ranch.

As we let the horses drink from the river, I couldn't help but admire my own mare, Whiskey. She's a beautiful horse, and I thought to myself that she would make a perfect image for the upcoming Christmas series of woodcuts. Her chestnut coat shone in the sunlight, and she looked content as she drank from the river.

We took a moment to rest and appreciate the view before continuing with our task of gathering the stray cattle.
