The Woodwind was constructed by a group of friends at the New York Mine in Gold Hill, Nevada. In 1974, it was transported to Zephyr Cove on a trailer amidst much fanfare. Tourists love to sail on this magnificent ship on Lake Tahoe. The design on the sail represents the thrill of sailing in the winds, which inspired the artwork.
