Nevada is the only state with legalized prostitution. As a Nevada artist it seemed only natural for me to explore this as a subject for a painting.

Having looked at over half a dozen operating brothels with no hope finding a suitable location, I opted to create a brothel lobby in the corner of a saloon called The Paradise.

The 1920's Wurlitzer Jukebox set the time frame for the other props and costumes. Some of the girls are professional girls from the Kit Kat and the Sagebrush brothels; others are friends. The dog is Daisy and she just happened to wander in at the end of the session and fit right in.

On the floor are several magazines, which includes a self-portrait along with Bob and Judy Hartwell, who own the original.
