It was dark in the morning when we started to move the herd on the annual Allran Ranch cattle drive.
A few guests of the ranch were invited to ride along with us on the dusty trails. One of my jobs was to keep an eye on our youngest rider, Drew Fenimore, from Dallas, Texas.
Drew and I were riding along a ridge together when the sun dipped below the horizon. It lit up Drew's face and the landscape with a beautiful golden light.
