JohnD Winters is a local rancher who's been a good friend for over 30 years. His great grandfather was the first superintendent of the famous Yellow Jacket mine on the Comstock Lode in the 1860's.
JohnD owned a huge part of Carson City and ran a dairy and later
moved to Dayton to one of their two ranches. The Santa Maria Ranch
and the Ophi Mill Ranch. I use to help out on the ranches when needed.
He is also in the painting "The Redeye Express."
