This painting was created as a commission for Country & Western singer Lacy J Dalton and her friends, who were looking for an image to use as an album cover for "Wild Horse Crossing." I had only a week to come up with the image and complete the painting. Fortunately, the image came to me in a dream. It depicts the spirits of wild horses crossing over to the other world as they ascend through the clouds to heaven.

The album is a tribute to the 34 wild horses that were tragically slaughtered outside Reno, Nevada in the Virginia City range. This act of cowardice was eventually met with justice, as the shooters were captured, tried and found guilty.

The proceeds from the album sales and a subsequent print of the painting go towards raising funds to buy land and preserve the wild horses. I strongly urge you to buy the CD and the print, as all of the proceeds go to the non-profit foundation "Let em Run" to protect one of America's living treasures - our wild horses.
